A Little about me
I'm a Sydney-based cinematographer and director with a background that doesn't follow a straight line — and that's the point.
I started in New York, studying film and stepping straight into the deep end at MTV Networks, working across shows like MTV Sports and The Rodman World Tour. It was fast, chaotic, and unpredictable — the kind of environment that teaches you to think on your feet and trust your instincts. That foundation still shapes how I work.
From there I ran my own production company in New York, making commercials, television, documentaries, and music videos for networks including MTV, Bravo, NBC, and CBS. In the early 2000s I moved into the advertising side of the business, working with global brands like Dell, Gillette, Microsoft, and Novartis. It sharpened how I balance creative ambition with strategic thinking, and taught me how to deliver under real pressure.
Most recently I led content production at Loom Creative in Sydney, where I directed, shot, and produced work for major corporates and campaigns with well-known talent. Precision, messaging, output at scale.
But over time, the pull shifted.
Less interest in polish for its own sake. More interest in what's real.
These days my focus is on projects that sit closer to documentary, reportage, and human-centred storytelling. Work where you don't get a second take. Where the moment matters. Where the story reveals itself as you shoot. Still crafted. Still considered. But it starts with observation, not control.
I'm drawn to natural light over heavy setups. Movement that feels motivated, not imposed. Performances that aren't performances. Stories that trust the audience.
Good work, for me, sits in that space between raw and refined.
I've worked with global brands, production companies, and talent across Australia and internationally, and I'm comfortable operating at a high level. But the work I'm most interested in now is simpler:
Strong images. Real people. Stories that land.
