What I do
A working summary of what I'm hired for, the kinds of projects I take on, and how I tend to work when I get there.
CINEMATOGRAPHY
Single-camera and small-crew shooting for documentary, branded, and editorial projects. Comfortable as DOP on a directed shoot, or operating solo when access and intimacy matter more than scale.
Directing
Story-led directing across documentary, branded documentary, and short-form editorial pieces. I work hands-on through the whole process — development, shoot, post — rather than handing off in the middle.
Photography
Editorial, reportage, and campaign photography. Same approach as the moving work: observe first, light only when it serves the story, finish in the room rather than fix it later.
Solo and small-crew production
Built for projects where a big rig would change the story being told. I can run as a one-man band — camera, sound, direction — or scale up with trusted collaborators when the brief calls for it.
How I work
-
Crew size flexes with the project. Sometimes that's me with a single body and one lens. Sometimes it's a small team with sound, lighting, and a producer on the ground.
-
Gear matters. Lighting matters. They come second to what's actually happening in front of the lens.
-
I'm thinking about structure, pacing, and narrative while I'm shooting — not just gathering footage to figure out later.
-
Live environments, tight windows, unpredictable conditions. This is where the MTV years paid off.
-
Documentary work lives or dies on whether your subject lets you in. Most of the job, on the day, is being a person they're happy to have in the room.
The kinds of projects I take on
Documentary and factual
Branded Content
News, current affairs, and reportage
Events and live capture
Editorial and profile pieces
Short-form storytelling for brands
Who I tend to work with
Production companies, directors, documentary teams, editorial platforms, agencies (selectively), and brands building a real-world story rather than an advert.
A note on gear
Gear isn’t everything, but it certainly helps. We work with the industries best camera technology, supporting glass, audio, and lighting that travels well. I bring what the project needs — not a truck full of equipment that's there to look impressive.
